Happy birthday SEOZoom: the software turns 8!
In the digital world, and especially in our field, time seems to flow at a different speed, and every day seems to bring with it a small revolution, an update, a novelty that spurs us (and forces us) to stay on the ball. In this incessant whirlwind of change and progress, we find ourselves today celebrating a significant milestone, as SEOZoom turns eight years old. Eight years of growth, challenges, successes and constant evolution in step with the needs of an industry that knows no rest, always keeping innovation as a compass and reference for every action. And it is this, says Ivano Di Biasi, “that has allowed us to distinguish ourselves since 2015 in the world of SEO tools with original and different approaches, and that today makes us proudly claim to be the only software that boasts a dynamic engine, capable of reflecting real-world data and trends.”
SEOZoom and a journey through algorithms and keywords
Eight years on the Internet is a geological era: websites are born, grow, evolve or disappear into thin air, and the same happens to tools, apps and so on. And what about SEO trends? In 2015 we were still thinking about the single keyword, the beacon guiding every strategy, we were still relying on the old content optimization practices (maybe not keyword stuffing, but certainly exact matching in the title and headings yes!) and generally orienting all work to trying to please and satisfy the search engine.
That may sound a bit boastful, but then SEOZoom came along and showed another kind of approach to SEO.
Since December 15, 2015, SEOZoom (thankfully!) has grown, continued to evolve, anticipated trends, and adapted to progressive revolutions as well: so it is a pleasure for us to come back here every year to remember this day and for us to celebrate a small (but not too much!) success story in the digital world, made of insights, teamwork, and a vision always looking to the future.
SEOZoom’s 2023: the new features introduced
Before we really turn our eyes to “tomorrow,” however, we can as per tradition recap what happened this year in our cosmos.
As of February 1, 2023, we have permanently released the new release of SEOZoom, which fully replaces the previous one and includes the inclusion of more tools, revamped and improved features, more international databases, and, “under the hood,” an analytics engine that relies on a set of algorithms that cooperate to analyze SERPs, competitors and their content, and to identify users’ search intentions in real time. This evolution was necessary to continue to ensure the quality of the data shown and to achieve what has always been our goal: to make it easier for both Google and end users to create perfect content.
At the same time, we have a significant redesign that embraces both the aesthetics and the substance of our “digital properties”: in fact, in addition to the software, we have also intervened on the technical aspect of the website www.seozoom.it, the Academy and the blog, trying to keep an ever-vigilant eye on usability and accessibility to make all interfaces lighter, clearer and more readable, improving the overall user experience and proactively responding to Google’s directives.
On the technical front, over the past year our team of developers has been working on improving some features such as the Time Machine or Keyword Studio, also in the wake of valuable feedback received from the community.
Most importantly, then, we have released new tools that have quickly become very popular among our users, such as Rank Simulator and URL Inspector, and also two innovative metrics for keyword analysis. The first one is Traffic Share and is used to identify the best content that competes for a specific keyword or with a URL, showing the percentage distribution of the overall traffic of the whole cluster of keywords that refer to the search intent (thus extending the analysis not only to the main keyword or keyword of interest, but to the whole related set) and immediately identifying who is the strongest competitor for the topic, the one that collects the largest share of traffic with all keywords.
The other metric is called Content Focus and it shows at a glance the distribution of search intentions of users interested in that particular content, in the form of a graphical bar showing the percentage of intent for all keywords for which their pages ranked. In this way, it is possible to immediately understand the focus to be given to the content, assessing whether the target users are also interested in in-depth aspects of the products or services, such as guides, explanations, elucidation of specific features, comparisons or warnings.
SEOZoom and Artificial Intelligence
But SEOZoom’s big news in 2023 also extends to the use of Artificial Intelligence, which has perhaps been the biggest technological revolution in recent years: ChatGPT officially debuted on November 30, 2022, so at the time of its last birthday, we were just in the early days of all the applications (and discussions, and controversies) that would later arise.
Precisely because of that drive for innovation that we were talking about, we immediately decided to test whether and how to integrate this technology within SEOZoom. In less than a month, already at the end of December 2023, we released the new version of the Editorial Assistant with AI for text generation (later improved and enhanced throughout the year), while in March we debuted the AI Tools, a sort of “toolbox” for copywriters grappling with specific tasks, which they can quickly solve thanks precisely to the integration between SEOZoom and AI.
Our innovation doesn’t stop: Ivano Di Biasi’s point of view
In addition to these visible applications, then, for the past few months there has been another area in which AI support is proving useful and that is the engine that powers search and analytics, and it is directly our CEO and founder Ivano Di Biasi who tells us about it.
“Artificial Intelligence is transforming the way we understand and interpret data; at SEOZoom, we are exploring new frontiers to integrate AI into our solutions, making SEO analysis even deeper and our work even more effective.
Because of this, today we are the only SEO software that uses an internal search engine that is not static, but manages to reflect the real, current world, aligning with what people are really searching for right now, here and now.
The limitation of all SEO tools so far has been that they only provide a snapshot of keyword search volumes based on statistical averages for previous years. While our Trend Prediction feature was already a great innovation, because it provides accurate and quick estimates of keyword search volumes by analyzing current trends in real time to provide up-to-date data, we are now going even further.
In fact, thanks to the support of Artificial Intelligence, we have developed a new keyword research engine that cross-references Trends data with news data and – the most revolutionary insight – with input from our own users. In this way, SEOZoom is able to pinpoint new keywords in the bud, quickly providing search volumes that may already be available.
Just to provide an idea of the scope of this mechanism, on December 13 alone we analyzed and added 52 thousand keywords, in the last month we have exceeded 600 thousand keywords, and in the first half of December alone we found 20 thousand keywords that actually have search volume.
This tool helps us in understanding the needs of people online and intercepting the search journey of a hypothetical user to make the output provided to SEOZoom users better and better, especially for defining search intent and analyzing up-to-date data.”
The “vows” for 2024: what’s coming up on SEOZoom
Ivano also gives us some small glimpses into the future of SEOZoom, both the near and the mid-term future.
“First of all, the work on defining SEOZoom’s new APIs is almost complete, just as the process of getting SEOZoom’s mobile APP into the Android and iOs stores should be finished by now – it took us less time to develop the app than to get Google and Apple permissions, and we’ve been stuck for two months!
So, the first news in 2024 will be precisely these two releases, which are highly anticipated by our community.
And then, a little spoiler: we will soon add a totally new tool in SEOZoom, which will provide support for a multichannel strategy by allowing, in particular, to identify which keywords activate social results and, therefore, on which keywords and topics it makes sense to also create social content, complete with reporting of the platforms on which it is convenient to direct our attention.”
In short, we at SEOZoom are ready for the next chapter of this digital adventure, and we hope you will be there with us, ready to explore together the new horizons of SEO and all the challenges that will arise. One of these challenges still involves AI, and for example we are also testing Gemini and other systems that have debuted on the market, always with a view to embracing innovation in a proactive spirit, without getting stuck in fears of the new.
