Widget

A Widget is a software component that adds specific functionality to a Web site or Web page, often without requiring the developer to write code from scratch.

Technically speaking, it is an element of a user interface that displays information or provides a specific interaction: for example, a widget could be a text block, a button, a newsletter subscription form, a clock, a calendar, a news feed, contact forms, or even social features such as share buttons and Twitter feeds. They can also be customized and are often provided by third-party services or included in content management systems (CMS).

Widgets can be used to add functionality or content to a website or application, and are designed to be easily integrated into a page, enhancing interactivity and user experience.
