Webinar

Born from the fusion of the words “web” and “seminar,” webinar is a neologism for precisely a seminar or presentation that takes place via the Internet.

The history of webinars began with the advent of the first videoconferencing and web conferencing applications in the 1990s, and their popularity grew exponentially with the increase in Internet bandwidth and the accessibility of streaming technologies. Today, this format has gained popularity as a tool for remote conferencing, training, and product or service presentation, and webinars in particular can be used for a variety of purposes, including education, training, selling products or services, and building relationships with customers or prospects.

They are usually interactive in nature and therefore allow participants to intervene during the course of the lecture and dialogue directly with the presenter, ask questions and participate in polls and discussions in real time, overcoming geographical barriers. Therefore, webinars are an effective digital marketing and corporate communications tool, offering a cost-effective and scalable way to reach and engage a global, broad and geographically diverse audience.
