Visit
A visit, in the field of Web traffic analysis, refers to a single session of a user’s interaction with a Web site.
The visit begins when the user arrives at the site and ends when the user leaves the site or remains inactive for a certain period of time. A single visit (unique visitor) may include multiple page views, click events, transactions, form fill-outs, or other actions before ending the session.
The number of visits is a common metric used to measure a website’s traffic: tracking visits can be used to assess user engagement, how often they return to the site and how they navigate between pages, and is important for understanding user behavior and optimizing the website to improve the user experience and achieve business goals.
