Unique Visitor

Unique Visitor is a term used in Web analytics to refer to an individual who has visited a Web site at least once during a specified time period, regardless of the number of times the site is visited by that individual.

This count is therefore not based on the number of visits to the site, but rather on the number of distinct individuals-as mentioned, each user will be counted as one unique visitor. This metric is particularly useful in understanding the actual reach of the website.

Unique visitors are generally tracked using cookies or session identifiers to distinguish between new and old visitors during traffic analysis.
