SWOT Analysis

SWOT analysis or SWOT Analysis is a strategic planning tool used to assess the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of an organization, project or business idea.

The name is derived from the English initials for these elements, namely Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats.

This analysis allows a clear view of the competitive environment to be obtained and strategies to be formulated that take advantage of strengths and opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and threats.

Strengths and weaknesses are internal factors within the organization and may include resources, skills, processes, and assets.

Opportunities and threats are external factors and may include market trends, regulatory changes, competition and economic factors.

SWOT analysis is widely used in a variety of fields, from marketing to strategic management, and serves as a basis for goal setting and concrete action planning; moreover, it is a flexible tool that can be adapted to different contexts and different levels of analysis, from evaluating an entire company to analyzing specific products or services.
