Rich Snippet
They are called Rich Snippets and are essentially “enriched text fragments” that Google shows in addition to the classic snippets of results placed in SERP, usually between the title and the description.
Rich Snippets are thus interactive and graphical elements that precisely enrich a search result in Google, making it more attractive with additional data that can include rating stars, images, product prices, opening hours and other useful information.
This information is usually extracted from structured data with Schema markup, a type of code that helps search engines understand the content of a page and that each site can choose to add to its pages, if appropriate.
In this way, if, for example, a user is searching for a recipe, he or she might see a Rich Snippet in SERPs that includes a photo of the dish, preparation time, number of calories, and other users’ ratings-all information that can help decide whether or not to click on the result.
Rich Snippets should not be confused with Rich Results: technically, a Rich Snippet is a type of Rich Result, a more general term that includes all types of enriched search results, thus including Knowledge Graph tabs, direct answers, image carousels, and other Google SERP features.
