Render Budget
Render Budget is a concept introduced by Google that refers to the amount of resources Googlebot is willing to use to render the JavaScript of a web page, similar to the concept of crawl budget.
When Googlebot explores a web page, it first retrieves and analyzes the HTML and CSS, and then deals with the JavaScript. However, rendering the JavaScript can be a resource-intensive process, especially for complex web pages, and so Googlebot has arranged a “budget” for how much time and resources it can devote to this process.
If a page exceeds its render budget, Googlebot may not be able to properly see or index all of its content-this can have a negative impact on SEO, as content that is not rendered may not be considered in search results.
To optimize the render budget, it is important to ensure that the site’s JavaScript is well optimized, limiting the use of heavy or unnecessary scripts and using techniques such as lazy loading for nonessential content.
