Keyword Cannibalization
Keyword Cannibalization occurs when several pages on the same website compete for similar or even the same keywords.
This can confuse search engines and lead to suboptimal distribution of traffic among pages: instead of having one strong page that ranks well for a given keyword, the site may end up with multiple pages that rank poorly. It is therefore important to have a clear and well-planned keyword strategy to avoid cannibalization and this particular “self-competition.”
