Canonical URL

The canonical URL is the URL that a webmaster considers the most authoritative address of a page, which can be specified using a canonical tag.

This is especially useful when the same page can be reached through multiple URLs: by specifying the canonical URL, we guide the search engine to the preferred version of the page, in the process called canonization or canonicalization)
