Rich Results

Rich Results, or Multimedia Results, are a type of Google search results that have special features or special information that make them more attractive to users.

Thus, they are a wide range of results enhanced by visual information, generated using relevant structured data.

Some types of multimedia results-such as those related to Product markups, Podcasts, Software Apps, and Sitelinks – add additional information and/or functionalities to the classic search snippet; other types of multimedia results, on the other hand, add an entirely new functionality to the SERP, as in the case of recipe or movie carousels, job listing boxes, How To carousels, and more.

The term Rich Results is an umbrella term that includes all search results that present additional information to a standard search result; in this sense, a rich snippet is an advanced result subtype enriched with appropriate structured data.
